Walk

Drawstring

She looks into oncoming traffic, black bag slouched on her shoulder. Apple headphones held by the headband. She’s in a burnt orange coat at the front of the shop. Gesturing with her hands, picking grapes. Crooked-teeth smile. Wide black pants with white stitching. Citi e-bike swerving down Elizabeth against traffic. She’s coming up from the Drawstring

Skyline between gaps

The Ferry crosses under the bridge, swirling pockets of water. They’re sitting outside the subway station selling fruit, exhaling smoke. They recline, shaking their blonde curly hair, arm extended, phone in hand. Barbed wire looped around a staircase. Gray hair, magenta jacket, and a fabric cart, delay at the crosswalk. Steam rushes out of a Skyline between gaps

Monitor glass reflection

You’re walking in a group. Elongated shadows. Ponytail sways in warm glow. Bare trees, brown grass. Four-leaf clover pendant. Stepping onto concrete landing, helmet visor fractures light on your face. You drip coffee on your lap. Particle board leans on drywall. Holding a pocket mirror, applying mascara.Shadows spill on grass. Door propped open, stairway leading down. Monitor glass reflection

Knock-off Prada

I saw you selling knock-off Prada. Fruit label with a sunburst headband. You were wearing your visor. The light hit your face when you turned. Suitcase rolled to a stop. Plane overhead. Red wing with a graphic. You shut the car door on the passenger side and ran around. Made a fist in your glove Knock-off Prada
